Report cards are sent home every term. They indicate the student’s progress in meeting curricular goals, both academic and social. Parents must remember that every child develops differently. They should be encouraging and supportive as they discuss the report card with their children.
ECC teachers and administration post weekly newsletters in Google Classroom to inform parents about the content being studied in class and other important information. Teachers also send individual emails to parents as needed.

Attendance is very important. Starting in early childhood education, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school. Missing 10% (or about 18 days) can make it harder to learn to read and be successful in school. Students who are chronically absent in kindergarten are less likely to read in 3rd grade. Absenteeism denies students the opportunity to engage in class activities. Missing class content, discussion, and explanation of course materials, puts students at disadvantage. Here in CSU-ECC, the first class begins at 9:00 a.m. and all students should be in their classrooms by this time.
We understand the importance of nutrition in a child's development. That's why we maintain high standards in food preparation and carefully select quality food sources. Our school follows the national dietary guidelines for young children. The school food menu will be timely updated to fit the dietary needs of children and the availability of ingredients according to the season.
Prekinder 3 (3-year-old students) have two class periods for a nap. Prekinder 4 (4-year-old students) will have one scheduled class period for napping at school. Kindergarten students will not have a nap time during school hours starting in the 2024-2025 school year. We encourage parents to establish a bedtime routine at home to ensure their children are getting enough sleep. Children aged 3-5 years need 10-13 hours of sleep a night.During the school naptime, students can either sleep or rest in their cots. If staying in bed even without resting or sleeping is a struggle for the student, the student may choose a quiet/downtime activity inside the classroom with the teacher’s supervision.
